Got the cylinders back from the tuner fitted with the huge V-Force reed blocks and modded wiseco pistons.

Image

Here's the caliper holder ready for welding
Image

Had the subframe undertray welded in place
Image

And after a few hours rubbing down etc
Image

Image

Image

Forks are back and new yokes are being CNC'd now, unfortunately the dude making the expansion chamber cones has broken his fingers so a 4 week wait there.
Here's the rear brake holder welded
Image

On the bike
Image

And caliper fitted
Image

Yes I know I could have put it under the swing arm but I have two exhaust pipes exiting the right side and I wasn't sure if the caliper would be in the way.

Finished the under-tail section access plate
Image

Locating grommets
Image

Panel in place, just need some push clips to hold the top in place, I drill and fit them latter, the allen screw are for the number plate bracket.

Got the swing arm polished

These don't do the work justice but you get the idea of how good it is

Image

Image

Got the engine built
Image

Image

Got the new yokes and well worth waiting for, Paul did a superb job
Image
Image

I now have a rolling chassis!
Image
Image
Image

Got the front calipers mounted
Image

The first thing I did with this project was cut 10mm from the inner frame each side to fit the R6 swing arm.
Image

This 10mm needs to be replaced to get the frame strength back, I'm going to have 7075T6 alloy plate's CNC'd for both sides and weld them in place, then blended into the frame like they where moulded one piece.

I'll get these welded and blended in next week
Image

Got the new rear engine mount back from Mr. CNC, just needs welding to the frame tomorrow.
Image

Had the rear mount welded
Image

And the frame side plates too
Image

Started blending the plates into the frame, still some work to do but looking ok so far
Image

I have to get this finished quick as the bike is booked in to have the pipes fitted Saturday, that'll be a big step forward for the project.

Had to get the bike ready for the pipe fitting Saturday so spent all afternon working on it.
got the engine in, rear brake and gear change sorted and a few other bits, it was dark out when I finished so only got a few in door pix, will get some daylight pix tomorrow.

Well the bike was due to be delivered at the pipe fitters tomorrow but there has been a problem! I thought I'd just check the pipe angles and found the rear shock set up is far to low and stops the middle pipe going where it needs to be
Image

It's a shame as the R6 linkage fitted direct in the gsxr frame BUT, it has to be moved so big smile and strip the bike down again to relocate the unitrack.

Here's some daylight pix to be going on with, be back next week after the shock linkage mods, the pipe fitting has been rebooked for 11th Dec now.

And here's the linkage moved up and new bracket pattern made for Paul to CNC next week, this will be welded in place.
Image

Image

MY LINKAGE BRACKET ARRIVED!!!!!!! only 2 week late but it's here now.
Image

I'll get this welded on Monday and rebuild the bike for the pipe fitters Tuesday

There are 4 nicely positioned threaded holes under the headstock to mount a plate for the coils
Image

Coils fitted
Image

Ignition box fitted
Image

New bars
Image

The sprocket cover needed loads of cutting to get round the chain's 20mm offset and gear change linkage, I also stared fitting the 2 stroke oil lines
Image

The 2 stroke oil lines are usually fitted to the carbs with reed boxes but I didn't want to do that, I found these connectors on line
Image

And drilled, tapped the reed boxes
Image

Thats the 2 stroke injection sorted
Image

The pipes need to be fitted before anything else can be done, 2 weeks to go for the pipe fitting then it's fire it up, get it all running ok then off to paint, powder and anodise.

It was a long wait but well worth it, Mark just sent this pic of the finished chambers, I can hear it ticking over already, will pick it up Friday evening.
Image

Hi guys, got the frame back from powder coat, the rebuild has started and the paintwork should be back this week! Im really excited to see how it'll look finished.

There is still a few bits to do, the pipes need shortening at the back as vibration is an issue but this is how it will look
